Jeffrey R. Jayne – Head Coach

Jeffrey R. Jayne is currently a Master Corporal with the Idaho State Police and his assignment is a motor officer here in the Treasure Valley.  He started his career 19 years ago as a resident Trooper in Sandpoint, Idaho.  While in Sandpoint, he lead the department in DUI arrests and drug cases. He was awarded the top DUI enforcement officer four years in a row by the Kootenai County Substance Abuse Council from 2007-2010.  He also attained the Northwest Officer of the Year award from the Northwest Alcohol Conference in 2009.

He began his wrestling career at age 8 and was a four time state champion in freestyle wrestling as a youth.  When he was 11 years old, he won the Eastern National Championships in freestyle.  He attended Jordan Elbridge High School in central New York where he amassed a 98-6 record, achieving Hall of Fame status from his high school.  In his junior year in high school, he qualified for the U.S. National Freestyle team as the only high school athlete to compete on the team. That year he wrestled in Hungary, Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia against the best senior teams from various Soviet Bloc Countries.  His Freestyle and Greco-Roman training was taught from the USA Wrestling Core Curriculum concept. He was a captain of his high school wrestling team for four years and the team was ranked 8th in the country by USA Today.  He was a full scholarship wrestler for Syracuse University, starting all four years and was a pre-season All American his sophomore year. While at Syracuse, he attained a B. S. in Wildlife Management and an M. S. in Sports Medicine with a concentration in exercise physiology.

Jeff has dreamed of coaching his son, Drake, in the three styles of wrestling, with aspirations of a bright future for Drake.   Drake has a twin sister that is showing equal amounts of talent in track.  Jeff is married to his beautiful wife Sarah, an attorney here in the Boise area.  As a family, they are passionate and excited to propel Legacy Wrestling Academy to the forefront of USA Wrestling so member athletes and their families can be trained by the best wrestling talent available.

Brian L. Bayley – Assistant Coach

Brian L. Bayley is a certified Master Home Inspector in the Treasure Valley. He is a father to three wonderful children, all of which are involved in the wrestling world.  His wrestling career started in kindergarten and continued throughout high school.

During his high school stint, he was starting varsity and greatly enjoyed the physical and mental growth that came from the sport. It taught him how to be accountable for his own actions. Also, that all things are achievable through hard work and dedication. While lettering in wrestling and track, he earned the highest Boy Scout rank of Eagle Scout, which was a 6-year process.

After a series of jobs and marrying his lovely wife, Rena, they decided to join the United States Air Force, where they spent the next 6 years. While in the military, he found himself in the hospital with a medical condition that required him to undergo brain surgery. During his recovery period from the surgery, he was able to earn several awards through his squadron. He was awarded a red rope for leadership, which put him in charge of over 700 Airman in his technical training school. He competed for the rank of Senior Airman Below the Zone and was one of two people chosen to rank up 6 months earlier than the other airman.

Volunteering has always been a priority for his family, they continued serving in the community of Abilene, TX where he was awarded an official citation from Governor Rick Perry for the longevity of his time serving as a Boy Scout Master, which was 12 years. The state of Connecticut followed suit by awarding him a second official citation.  Among the military service medals awarded, he was blessed to receive the “Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal”. While in Texas their family was awarded the “2013 7CMS Family of the Year” for the amount of service their family provided the local youth. These services included teaching an early morning church scripture study, presiding as the President of a youth organization as well as assisting in multiple home builds with the Habitat for Humanity organization.
